What you don't know

I am Dannean; a wife of 1, a mom of 3 and a believer in Faith, Hope and Love. I am passionate about South Africa, have a heart for vulnerable women and children and have a crazy love for the isiZulu language and culture.

What you may not know

I am a voracious reader, a *blogger (when time permits) and a closet crossword puzzle fundi.  I love watching cricket, try to love running and I speak 3 languages (to varying degrees).

What you definitely need to know 

I am a teacher by passion and training with more than 20 years experience in the field of Education. I have taught preschool, as well as in the Intersen and Foundation Phase in South Africa. I also taught everything from Reception to Year 7 in London and in Sheffield. I lectured Foundation Phase students, at The Wits School of Education, in a variety of Foundation Phase methodology courses. I have won numerous teaching awards and as well as being my area of expertise, Education is something I have a great love for.  

For five years, up until 2020, I homeschooled my three children. For numerous reasons we chose to send them to mainstream school in 2020 (with a good stint of 'Covid Crisis Schooling' in between). In 2022 both my sons came back home to do the American curriculum through our school that we called Eduship. My daughter followed suit in 2024. 

I have always remained up to date with changes in Education as well as other Education related matters. In 2020 I completed a Conscious Discipline and a Blended Learning Course and in 2021 I became a certified Level 1 Google Educator. 

I have worn the hat of teacher, parent, homeschool mom and crisis school mom and want to lend my expertise to any individuals, homeschool groups, teachers and schools who would benefit from my experience.
